Love for vintage letters and signs

I love vintage letters and signs! Here are some cool letters I found at an little antique boutique in Fife Washington. It was hard to decide at the time what to do with them.... There were not very many letters left. Hmmm.... E-A-T-S like the show on TV. Well, I like it. I gave them a good washing and just put them above my pictures. Do you have any vintage signs or letters in your home? Show me I would love to see what you have. Comment and send me a link.

Modern with a twist of vintage !

I love how our Christmas tree turned out this year! There is a whimsical theme with pink altered art crowns with silver and aqua ornaments with vintage icicles. My family every year makes a few ornaments for the tree. This year we made the crowns. Pretty vintage buttons, lace, rhinestones, pearls, tinsel and more adorn them with a sprinkle of MICA glitter.

Look what is new/old!

Just added some cool new/old spools for you altered doll making and whatever you can think of. These would be great in an altered shadowbox too.

I went antiquing with my mother-in-law and found this cool pin from a sales convention in 1920. My dad collects anything that has a sales theme and is from 1920-1930. I was so excited to give it to him! I could not wait for Christmas. He loved it so much he took it to his sales convention to show it off!

How to improve your personality, glamour, beauty in the 1940's

I found this really super great book at a vintage shop in Tacoma, WA while on vacation.
I almost died laughing while reading this book. Here are some of my fav pages.

This is my favorite page!

Exercises for the Bust

"The female bosom has always been a symbol of health and beauty." (oh my gosh!) The shape, size, and firmness and erectness of the breasts, also their relation to the size and contour of the body are all taken into account when a woman is appraised for her charm." ( It is hard to believe people used to think this crap!)

Do you have a "fat neck"

The Westmore brothers

"They lay down fundamental principles governing the application of make-up as a means of dramatizing the personality and enhancing a women's charm."

The Westmore brothers are doing over members of an audience in 20 min. for a contest, " to size up the personality of the winner"

Welcome!

This is so exciting! A new blog!I can not even think about what to say. hmmmm. Well, here is a peek at the studio, sensational elements of texture and color. The studio has to have lots of fun elements to engage the creative process. Well, I do try.
You must stack your vintage fabric as high as it will go. Do not forget to pay the milkman.

Oh, so lovely. Need a pin.
Stuff as many pretty vintage lace into the jar as you can, come on, more has to fit.

So pretty millinery berries! These were one of my favorites, they sold really fast! The berries have this netting around them and the thread shines like silk.
